The spectator has chosen a card which is returned to the deck. The magician then points to an empty bottle and closes it. He throws the deck of cards towards the bottle and the selected card appears – magically – inside the bottle!
Or, wanting to use the effect as a quick and impressive introductory trick, simply point to an empty bottle and a random card will immediately appear inside!
