Close-Up Magic

Close-Up Magic is a category of magic in which tricks are performed very close to the audience – often just a few meters or even centimeters away. The magician stands directly in front of the spectator and performs magic tricks at breathing distance.

Unlike Stage Magic, Close-Up Magic requires no large props or special effects. It typically involves small everyday objects, such as playing cards, coins, balls, and similar items. In some cases, no objects are used at all (Propless Magic).

Notable Close-Up magicians include Dai Vernon, Michael Ammar, Max Malini, Eugene Burger, Tony Slydini, Tommy Wonder, and others.
